Creative sewing

If you are on a tight budget there's no reason to skimp on style.

If you can sew you can easily change items in your wardrobe to give them a fresh new look, or buy a bargain dress or jacket in a charity shop and customise it to make it as unique as you are.

The 'make do and mend' spirit has made a big comeback in recent years, and making your own clothes can be far quicker and easier than you might expect.

At my creative sewing workshops I can teach you the basics - how to use a sewing machine, how to recycle clothes to make them fit better or suit your personality more.

Just changing buttons, adding new trim, shortening or re-shaping can transform a boring or old-fashioned piece of clothing into something you'll love wearing.

For intermediate and advanced sewers I can also offer new techniques and ideas - perhaps you'd like to look at honing your design skills, or freehand machine embroidery?

Sewing is a relaxing and enjoyable hobby which can also help you make new friends. Some of my workshops include lunch giving us a chance to share ideas, experiences, tips and hints.

I am happy to put together a session, or sessions for small groups of friends or clubs covering the specific skills they want to learn. Contact me to discuss the options. I am confident I can offer something for every budget.
