Joelle loves to get messy, experimenting with environmentally friendly ways to create textiles using print and colour and to share her skills by facilitating workshops and giving talks.
Eco print is a great way to introduce pattern to tired fabrics. An old linen sheet, gone thin in the middle, still has plenty of stable fabric that can be printed or dyed to create beautiful garments or scarves. The thin areas can be used in creating artwork or layered with other fabrics on cushions or bags.
Naturally dyed wool using locally available materials such as nettles, alder cones and onion skin. I avoid buying commerically produced natural dyes with the exception of British Grown Woad.
